I ran out of internets

I'm staying at the Stratton Hostel, which is really an annex of the World Square Hostel. Stratton does not have wi-fi, but it does have a bar downstairs. That's nice.
World Square has wi-fi, but apparently turns into a club/bar at 8pm. I'm talking fog machine, kegs, loud techno music.

And that's why I'm at McDonald's. Again. Eating a McFlurry. Not again.

I walked all over Sydney today, and I'm tired so I'm sure I'll sleep like a log tonight. I don't have much on the agenda for tomorrow, just walking around Chinatown and Paddy's Markets. I was thinking of getting a haircut though.....

And before you start moaning, hear me out: It's freaking hot in Australia. I always wear it tied/pinned/twisted up. It never dries.

It's a definite possibility.

Anyways, tonight I walked yet again out to Mrs. Macqueries Rd. to photograph the Sydney Opera House all lit up at night. But it wasn't lit up. It was very underwhelming. I'll be posting those photos soon.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a McFlurry to attend to.

Sydney!

Thursday, I woke up at 5am to take the first train from Coorparoo to the Airport. After a 2 hour flight, I landed in Sydney. Same time zone, but they observe daylight savings time.... so it's an hour ahead of Brizzy.
After I found my hostel, I dropped my stuff off and took a walk around the neighborhood. I went to the Australian Museum, and checked out some cool exhibits.

 Butterflies

 Insects

 Wallaby

 Praying mantis

 Golden ant

 Giraffe and ostrich skeleton

 Elephant skeleton

 Hi-ho Silver, away!

They had to make an exhibition, otherwise no one would survive.

 Very realistic Jurassic Park scene.

After the museum, I came back to the hostel, which is above a bar (as is every hostel in Sydney), and had a few beers with Matt from the UK, and Martin from Austria.
Friday morning, I got up and walked from the hostel to Botanical Gardens.

This tree had branches that turned into roots?

I walked from Mrs. Macqueries Point over to the Opera House, and then over to The Rocks. I went to the Museum of Contemporary Art and checked out the Annie Leibovitz exhibit. Then I walked toward the Victoria Bridge.
